Mr. Trainor was born and raised in Anne Arundel County, and attended Monsignor Slade Catholic School for early education. During his childhood, he grew up playing youth sports throughout Anne Arundel County for both Pasadena and Davidsonville organizations.
He then attended The Gilman School in Baltimore City, where he was a 3 sport varsity athlete and a captain of the school’s football team. Mr. Trainor earned both All State and All Metro honors in football, and All State honors in lacrosse during his high school years.
Mr. Trainor received a scholarship to St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia where he was a member of the Division I lacrosse team. He then transferred closer to home and graduated from St. Mary’s College of Maryland with a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy. During his time at St. Mary’s, Mr. Trainor completed an undergraduate thesis on race and disenfranchisement in America.
After graduating, Mr. Trainor received a scholarship to attend the University of Baltimore School of Law, where he graduated cum laude and earned a Juris Doctor. During his time in law school, he was named Clinic Student of the Year for his work within the Juvenile Justice Project representing juveniles sentenced to life in prison.
Mr. Trainor spent years serving as a Baltimore City Public Defender, developing the skills and relationships that have led to the formation of this office. During his time with OPD, he helped countless individuals navigate the criminal justice system successfully, while always putting his clients and their families first.
Additionally, Mr. Trainor is a parishioner at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Annapolis, Maryland.
